What's your Mount Rushmore look like for Starcraft Use Map Settings creators?
Reminder~ Order doesn't matter for these, just pick 4.

Mine:
Panzer_Kavalier - Had so many hits. Most notably RE: Racoon City, Normandy Invasion, and marine special forces. One of my favs was his remake of Aeon of Strife.

MilleniumArmy - A keen eye for mini games and finding the least common denominator on what makes something (fun). Was also very active in the community, helping

TuxedoTemplar - While the others created maps that were very successful with wide appeal, Tuxlar would make amazing more high-brow experiences. The map maker's map maker.

Gunner_4_ever - While probably the least prolific, had the most lasting impact by far. Created by some as starting the MOBA genre with Aeon of Strife, which led to DotA > LoL.

Math + Physics + StarCraft = Zoan

I gotta agree on your choices lol, but if I had to choose 4 different people (in no particular order either):

1. Drant. Made Labyrinthos, and hosted a bunch of his other really high quality maps on renaka.com; I was surprised he was never party of this community.

2. Kenshin17/18/.../21 (I think he made new accounts each year and put his age at the end lol). Made some really fun Final Fantasy maps, really consistently too.

3. Bioject. RE:One and RE: Village Defense are so good imo. Really high quality and well made.

4. UnholyUrine. Temple Siege and then that other game which he never finished with the super space marine fighting, I forget the name. It was so banger though

If I could throw on another head onto the mount rushmore tho I would definitely add Mephisto_Is_God. He made some super iconic movie maps, and I think some other nice maps too (like rock paper scissors, and I think a few more)

edit: that Roy guy is pretty alright too

Find Me On Discord (Brood War UMS Community & Staredit Network)

Panzer & Tuxedo 100%

Other 2 are harder, prob qpirateking he made a lot of inspiring maps even if they were often incomplete they were really cool.

엘모모 or Avlos gotta give some korean representation on the mountain right? how can u not? 엘모모 made Sook Slash Adventure prob greatest UMS of all time IMO

really depends if u value quantity (prolific) or quality as well. like some of the early mappers like panzer they made a lot of quality maps but they did it at the time wen the bar wasnt raised that high so it was easy to rise up above the low effort maps, but there are other mappers who didnt make much but raised the bar of wat was possible by a mile, like Lethal_Illusion and kaias they didnt really make any complete maps but they definitely did things that were never done before, I guess u culd say pioneers vs refiners TLDR i find the mt rushmore thing a bit confusing of the criteria

Memories are coming back!
When I think of Korean maps, I think the first one to actually make a dent in the US scene was that WE ARE FRIENDS map. Really cool and popular. Another would be that crazy castle defending one with a whole crazy story. Felt like romance of the seven kingdoms, very epic.
Did Kaias do that stacked 1px difference location thing that led to lots of innovations?
What did Lethal do again?

I think the most legendary vaporeware map was Crescent Dyne.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
