Hello everyone and happy holidays!

Some may remember my name (and I believe I am credited in a few tools; probably DatEdit, ScmDraft and FireGraft IIRC). After being away from the modding community for nearly twenty years, I figured now is as good time as any to make my return. Hello.

I have spent some time over the past two months updating the code for MPQDraft. It used to rely heavily on a GUI framework from early the 1990s, and had some cobwebs here and there. It is in a much better shape now.

Features of MPQDraft 2026-01-01:
  • Completely rewritten GUI in Qt. It has a few more features than the old and is more logical, in my opinion.
  • More help for the user, explaining what things are.
  • CLI that can do all that the GUI can (except configure plugins, which for technical reasons is not feasible from the terminal in a pretty way - if you want to configure a plugin, use the GUI once and then the plugins in the CLI should have the same settings)
  • You can now add custom icons to your SEMPQs.
  • Cross-compilation is now possible. Using MinGW-w64, one can now compile the code from a Linux machine (Mac too I assume). MPQDraft itself is still very much a Windows 32-bit only program though, but at least you no longer need a Windows machine to build it.
  • Has built in supports for the same games as before: Diablo I, Diablo I: Hellfire, StarCraft I + Broodwar + StarEdit, Diablo II, WarCraft II: Battle.net Edition, WarCraft III + World Edit, WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, Lords of Magic SE.

Resources:
My request to any of you who still do modding to try it a little bit. If you find any issues, let me know. When things seem stable, I'll remove the beta label. Edit: released

Also, I'm running jorsys.org. I'm hoping to fill it with more content as time allows. For those of you who remember, it is quite clearly a homage to Camsys.

Hello,

Wow, I remember using this program back in 2003 or 2004 just to toy around with it, then written a little tutorial on my website to tell how to use it. :O
It's nice to see old StarCraft modders getting back it the hobby. :)

French map maker, not really active these days.

That's interesting. Any resource on how to make QDP plugins?

Also, your site could use a search. Come on, I had one in 2004 :) and searches were already common on near pure HTML sites

Symmetry shouted: I did my first EUD thing today. Feels like me finding arsenal at age 8 again
haha for sure. in some ways it's even more exciting because you can play EUD maps on regular battle.net, don't need to convince someone to download your mod to play with you. what did you do?
