You guys remember that old map Tarpit Defence? I remember it as a classic on Battle.net.
But one thing that always confused me as a kid - the zergling unit used for shopping was called "Penid Slices". Wtf is a penid? Was that just a typo of "penis" that persisted for decades of map changes? Why are we talking about slicing penises?
Let's find out.
Circa 2004: v2
From scmscx, the oldest version of Tarpit Defence that I can find - v2 - calls them "Bread Slices": https://scmscx.com/map/sB8xtkbk
Why Bread Slices? I don't know, I guess just some random humor. But it does line up with the name of the unused Terran Beacon in the map data, "Bring Me Bread.", which I'm guessing was the original way to mark shopping rather than the creep terrain.
The map was credited to Sickoe_dt_ & Phobos _dt_, who are in some kind of Clan DT.
2005: v3.1 and v3.2
The first version that uses the phrase "Penid Slices" anywhere is v3.2. https://scmscx.com/map/9yDfTpsG

The only difference seems to be strings: the author's credit in the description has changed to "Poopyheads & Phobos shit", and the credit in the Forces changed to "BY CrappEater & Poopyheads". I always thought "Poopyheads" and "CrappEater" were really stupid usernames from the early 2000s, but I hadn't considered that it was someone trying to make a really crass defamation attempt.
The crass humor only gets worse when you look at the changes in unit strings:
They basically replaced all usage of the _dt_ clan tag with either shit or crap, and then made a bunch of other crass renames. This is where Bread was renamed to Penid. I'm sure the thief intended to type Penis but they were just so rushed in their vandalism they made a careless mistake...
2005 onwards: v3.3+, v5, v6, v7
A careless mistake that fossilized in future edits of the map, from various thiefs and mapmakers, for the next 20 years.
Despite being a stolen version, v3.2 seemed to have gotten the most popular. It was the version I remember playing in my childhood. And many versions after v3.2 all have the vandalized strings, including "Penid Slices" and all the poop jokes. This lineage of versions jump from v3.2 to v3.3, v3.4, and then skips over v4 to go to v5.x and v6.x, along with many other variations - including Koreans ones.

It wasn't until v7 (first known timestamp 2019) that the vandalism was finally scrubbed off this lineage, and the zergling was renamed to "[$1]Chooser". But at this point, the damage was done.
Meanwhile, all these versions still had the string for the unused Terran Beacon, "Bring Me Bread.".
????: v4+
But there were still versions after v3.2 that had unvandalized strings like "Bread Slices" and still had Phobos_dt_ and Sickoe_dt_'s names credited. In particular, it seems they took exclusive ownership over the v4.x version label.

On the comments section of this YouTube video of someone nostalgically going back to Tarpit D, there's someone claiming to be Sickoe who made this comment in 2019:

This lines up with 3.2 being slanderous, the future versions (managed primarily by SPEEDFAST) branching off of 3.3, and the 4.0 line being owned by Sickoe.
I'm sure there's a lot more internal history about this map from the various mapmakers, but without any more primary sources, we can only make guesses.
