Disable cloaking

Tried searching the forum but haven't found anything that works yet.

Trying to globally disable cloaking, and have never had to do this before, nothing I have tried is working.

I have a Sarah Kerrigan, and an Infested Kerrigan in the game, and I need both to not have cloak.

- I've tried to disable it globally in tech (didn't work, guessing that does it just for research)
- Disabled individually for all players (guessing this is for non-hero units)
- I set the energy it takes to use to 250 (game just straight up ignores this and has it at 25)

How do I make it so no one can activate cloak? I tried changing it with EUD editor 2 to just not have the button... but the program keeps crashing and my changes don't get saved.

Are you sure you disabled the correct cloak in tech? There's two cloaks, one is for Wraiths (I don't remember the full name), and the other is for bio units (personnel cloaking). You want to disable the latter to affect ghosts and Infested Kerrigan. Also, make sure you disable it for the correct player(s).

Mr.Pete-Tong

It should work if you disable personnel cloaking for correct players, you might have been disabling cloaking field thats for wraiths. you can edit the amount of energy it cost to personnel cloak too im sure that works too just need to change it in personnel cloaking in tech menu. heroes tech are reseached by default so thats why heroes dont need to research it first for them to cloak. with normal ghost you need to have players research the tech before normal ghost can use that tech.

A Legendary Map Maker, Player. Apparently im more than intresting to observe Irl

you could be the rat??

The maps I made are tweaked into perfection and maximum strategy added

Personnel cloaking is the tech you should be disabling.

You can of course disable techs for hero units. Think of Zerg mission "The Amerigo", where Kerrigan has Psionic Storm disabled.

To do it globally, you just need to go to Tech Settings and find "Personnel Cloaking" within the Terran tech three, then set its global default as "Disabled" (IMPORTANT: As others have pointed out, you should make sure it is "Personnel Cloaking" the tech you are working with. "Cloaking Field" is the tech for Wraiths and disabling it will only make Wraiths, not Ghosts, unable to cloak).

Hope this helped.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
