We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch
I recently discovered this guy and I wonder why I haven't found him earlier. His tracks carry so much emotion. Instantly makes me want to go to a club.
I've been listening to Elder Island a lot since discovering them last year. I think they're really underrated. They toured North America in September-October 2019 but I saw them back in August when they played at a festival in the UK.
Lots and lots of Candlemass, interspersed with... more stuff made by Leif Edling's other bands.
Apart from that, some game sountracks (like Doom 2, Plutonia 2, and of course SC).
It warms my heart to see a fellow Candlemass fan here. Candlemass is THE band that got me into doom metal 10+ years ago (along with Electric Wizard).
Speaking of Candlemass, I'm currently listening to "Demon's Gate" by Candlemass on "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus"... possibly the greatest doom metal song in the universe on the best doom metal album of all-time. \m/

Cool, though for some reason I'm not big on the 2 longer tracks from E.D.M. and not at all keen on the Marcolin-era albums (except the white one from 2005). I really thought metal fans are few and far between now, nobody on the social media seems to be into that kind of stuff - at least no one I know. Lately, I've been listening to Lake of Tears a lot, although I have to point out that listening to lots of Lake of Tears, Katatonia and Candlemass sometimes ends up getting me rather depressed. But the song "Last Purple Sky" - the first one from the 2007 album "Moons and mushrooms" is the one I've been digging a lot, very energetic. As an old Warcraft II fan I also dig the mushroom reference in the title, which is continued on the album cover: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Lake_of_Tears/Moons_and_Mushrooms/152453

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
