I just wanted to pre-Post a Melee map I am remaking. The original one was made in Ash, and I have yet to see a remade one in .SCX format with one made In ICE. (If there is one, Please let me know). I am using Staredit to make it.

(8)Plains of Snow '08
Size: 192x192
Tileset: Ice
Type: Melee
Suggested Players: 2-8
Description: The once ash covered plains are now coated in snow.

You picked a pretty bad map to remake. Protip: all Blizzard melee maps are garbage, so you shouldn't bother using them as inspiration. Also, not sure what the purpose of this map is -- it's literally the same Blizzard map, but in a different tileset. You might want to try making original maps that you can apply your mapping knowledge to, rather than just remaking the same simple maps over and over again.

Then why put any effort into publicising it? Work on new things, forget the old, unless there's something you can learn from it (and the only lesson I'm seeing here is to avoid working with Blizzard's own maps).

Is it wrong for me to want to upload the map?

Not everyone has a narrow view on what they think is worthy/unworthy. It's a playable map, I wanted to upload it to SEN since I didn't get to in the past. What's the real issue here?

EDIT: Personally I like this map, that's why I redrew it. How do I know others do not like this map?
well I don't, least not until I upload it, they download it, and then they say "I played it, I didn't like it".
but it all starts with my having to want to upload it to begin with.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
