An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death
Posting the map would be more helpful than posting an image.
You'd have to include the resource into the map MPQ and then change the unit type to use that sprite instead of the one it's supposed to use. It seems like it'd be complicated to do, but I'd have to investigate further to know for sure.

There's a tool called grpinjector. It injects custom graphics to the map.
This technique is relatively new.
Theory : Upload GRP(Type of image file SC uses) file inside STR section of scenario.chk,
and do some pointer arithmetic to initialize & use that.
