Hi,

I was wondering.. Since the "Trigger Editor" exists in SCM Draft 2 and triggers look like code, is there a way to work on your triggers in that mode instead of doing it in the classic trigedit ?

Recently I tried to make few changes to my triggers in Trigger Editor because I thought it would be much faster to do that rather than do it the traditional way. But when I got back in the classic trigedit to check, the changes I made in the Trigger Editor didn't seem to be there at all.

In my case, I have something like 1200 triggers which have at least 1 similar condition which is "If Player brings at least 1 Terran Civilian to...."

And I'd like to replace the Terran Civilian unit with a Devouring one (zergling). If the trigger editor works well, I could use Notepad++ to replace "Terran Civilian" by "Devouring One (Zergling)" and then copy/paste the new triggers all at once.

How should I proceed ?

You have to hit the debug/compile button to save triggers in Trigedit. (It's the rightmost, next to the question mark.) That makes it check for errors; if the only error is "Done!", then the triggers saved.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Yes, you can use the text trigger editor. You just have to hit the compile button (blue diamond over a black check mark) to save your changes. If it says "started" and "done" then it properly compiled. If it gives an error like "Expected Unit at line 59" then it didn't compile and won't save any changes until you fix it and compile again.

The text trigger editor doesn't recognize some extended values you can enter into the classic trigger editor, so if you're using EUDs this could be a potential problem.

Edit: Aw, Moose beat me to it.

Wow, that's incredible, my current map might actually not take AGES to be finished !

THANK YOU GUYS ! This is great help !

This map doesn't use EUDs, I just have to watch out for the text manipulation. This is great, thanks :)

haha for sure. in some ways it's even more exciting because you can play EUD maps on regular battle.net, don't need to convince someone to download your mod to play with you. what did you do?
