Google Chrome freezing computers

So apparently after an update to chrome the program has started to freeze many peoples computers requiring you to press the power button or wait a long time for a little control to return, this has been happening to me, my roomate, and numerous people on the web.

I'm currently troubleshooting my own, though it seems to be triggered randomly so only time will tell if something works, i'll be listing suggestions as I find them, if you have a working fix, please post it

It does seem that the issue is linked back to a conflict with the Realtek audio driver that may be currently installed on your machine. We've seen reports that upgrading to the driver version 6.0.1.6662 (R2.71) will likely solve the issue. Link for driver: Realtek Driver DL

Please post here if updating your Realtek driver does not fix the issue of your computer crashing while using Chrome. Our product team is working on confirming the conflict and we'll update everyone if there's a fix.

For your sake I'll use chrome for a while to see.

Currently on 6.0.1.6873 on ALC892. Haven't updated in few months.
Video driver is the default windows update version for ATI (I actually have an issue with my computer freezing in the latest drivers when my monitors turn off, huzzah for ATI's shitty drivers)

As I write this some horrible music pops up due to an ad on a webpage due to my use of chrome, and my scroll wheel randomly quits working. I'm afraid chrome is going to crash on me before it freezes.

NimoStar -- the thing with the "*12" thing is completely misleading. The AI isn't using two control groups, it can use each of those actions to command a single unit individually and issue different commands to each single unit.
