Hey everyone, with the release of Diablo III, I feel it is the final chapter and grand finale of my youth so I will be geeking out hard for the last time. For those who know I am, (not expecting a lot) and playing Diablo III, RFID add me!! I'll probably be playing more hardcore than softcore but we'll see how it goes!
Those who are unsure about D3, D3Beta was a blast, same concepts and playstyle as D2!
TLDR; don't bother reading if you don't know or like me

I think you'll get bored of Diablo 3 a few days in.
Which is why I'm going to sign you up for as many newsletters and spam sites as I can find - so that fun never ends. The Russians will be selling you genuine Rolex watches in your grave.
Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

When I played the open Beta, there was like nothing, and you could only ever use two skills at any time and not switch between them unless you actually waited for whatever cooldown to finish and opened the menu. Also I couldn't even use regular attack after choosing a skill. It was nothing like D2.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
