AI Script Question

This happens to me a lot. Whenever I run an AI script at a location, the AI in question always creates duplicates of its CC/Nexus/Hatchery and uses that to build their worker units. They also make duplicates of their production structures at times, and sometimes fail to use the existing ones.

How do I prevent this? Is it the area/units covered by the location, or what?

You're just supposed to put the location over their cc/nexus/hatch, not the entire base. I don't know what happens if you make the location large, and I don't know if you did that, but if you did, you should make is smaller so that it only covers their main "town hall."

..See, that has no change in behaviour.

Which AI script are you using? And what's the location look like? Can you post a screen shot of where the location is?

Also, you should open up the AI script with that program that lets you make your own scripts (completely forget what it's called, sorry) and see exactly what the script does. If you're trying to use one from the campaign missions, it may tell the AI build factories before constructing any units, so that may be why they don't use your preplaced buildings.

There are two(I think) current AI editors out there:
ScAIEdit3 is the old AI editor; it works without bugs, but it's not very pretty.
PyAI is a newer AI editor one made by poiuy_qwert; while it's newer, cleaner, and looks nicer, it's a bit buggy.

@Pr0nogo: The AI may be trying to build an expansion. As Dem0nS1ayer said, you should check the AI script you're using and see if you can find the part that's causing it to screw up, or at least narrow down the possible causes.

None.

I'm just using default scripts (I'll make custom ones later). It already has an expansion (with a separate AI script running for that) and that works fine. It's the main that's acting weird.

that doesn't mean he was prepared. When humans come around with new strategies it often takes weeks until the pros figure out how to shut it down. Oh_Man that's certainly a way more convincing argument for micro being "too good to beat".
