I think that was a bug, is it fixed now?

I think it was. I don't know about the server mem usage, but the server is a lot smoother now (I last tried it away from home, even).
When I was complaining about it laggy, I was playing on the same computer as the server .. so the connection should have been perfect.

I admit that it's not very good.

In other news, <3 poisons. Drop-down lighting retracts back into the ceiling, and stone comes out to completely cover the glowstone.

So what has everyone in terms of practical uses for Pistons? I'd been dicking around trying to make elevators and such but it's simply not worth it. Currently I plan to use them for:

-Floodgates (Oh hell yes)
-Hidden Doors
-Advanced Minecart systems (Minecarts AND rails are affected by pistons, the rails automatically connecting to their new track when moved, minecarts are a little awkward though.)
-Really cool background noises for your workshop

Somebody managed to make an elevator that goes up using two Pistons pushing each other, too. No practical value IMO though because it doesn't go down and you need to place the pistons/floor piece every time you use it.

And another thing, how do I trigger all of a 3x3 set of pistons to push directly upwards using only wiring from below? I haven't wired redstone since the update where they ruined my beautiful minecart system with their powered rails

My door into my house is opened via pistons, I'll get a video in a few minutes.

A redstone torch in the middle would be the only possible way to power the middle one.

I released a neat texture pack website- MinecraftCustomizer.net- today. Now everyone can be like painterly.

It just needs a little time for the good packs to show up.

I prefer Misa's with the custom text removed, myself. Before I used John Smith, and Misa's updated faster anyways. Plus everyone else on the server was using it, so it's better when everyone sees the same thing.
