Okay...so I went to the Fwiffo-like race influence area and talked to them and the only prompts are to kill them or to leave them in peace. I thought Wing said I could trade something from them?
You need to find their homeworld. It's the moon of Epsilon Gruis I.

Where's the spoiler alert
None.
It was only a small spoiler!

I will use tags for bigger ones.
None.

It's not even much of a spoiler, Fwiffo tells you that much. I learned about the yehat on my own, actually. Couldn't do anything about it till I got those damn shofixty though.
That's part of my problem, I'm not paying attention during the dialogue so I miss a lot.
Which is actually nice! I like this learning curve, but its very nice to have a guide around
GOTYNo wait. It's decent. It feels like I'm mining non renewable resources to crawl to the next event to progress in the plot. Sometimes I forget the names of locations given by NPC's and then I wonder where I should head next ;_;
Such a hassle to not have a 'log' of some sort. ;_;
;_;

Kame, get Eluder. BUTT is good. If you can use Eluder's primary weapon as well as the AI do, bonus.

Welcome to an era of games that required effort to beat.
I agree that it is a nuisance to have to take notes of locations and planet names, however when you've gotten used to writing these things into notepad it quickly becomes part of the adventure.
Anyone found good use for the Arilou Skiffs?

I like this learning curve. I started over, and recording the coordinates of places...its helping quite a bit.

Sell em? I find the only efficient way to kill something is to buy the best gun and put it behind your progenitor vessel and add 2 tracking mods on it for additional accuracy.

...To use against ships that don't have any homing or auto aiming capabilities? Hide behind a planet and zap em when they come/bump into it?
None.
I started over and got just about as far as I did before, except I went to go see the trio aliens and I kept getting stopped by the Ur-Quans. 3: So I decided to give up and i'll try something else tomorrow.
I just got my crew up to 110 and on going there I had not met any ur-quans. Also I am slightly faster than anything I've ever encountered in hyperspace so the only time I get into conflicts is when they spawn in the area in which I'm already going (too lazy to manually steer. Auto pilot errday). On the way back where I met at least 6-8 blips on the minimap I could easily just warp out of a battle since I had 110 crew/hp and had all anti matter thrust and turn thrusters on all slots. I just get really far then load my warp time thing and I'm out. Ez Pz. I recently lost to the Ur-Quan because I kept selecting the "I surrender" option thinking you wouldn't actually surrender but picking the surrender option more then once gives you a simple game over. I thought it was an option that led to a sneak attack or running away or something ;_;

The Skiff does seem kind of useless. The secondary weapon can get you out of trouble quickly but you still get torn apart in seconds. Because the ship is inertialess and very fast (faster than the Pkunk Fury and Spathi Eluder), plus its laser automatically fires in the direction of the closest target (it can shoot down missiles/fighters etc.) I find it useful against ships which are slow to turn. The Mycon Podship, which is a pain to kill otherwise, is pretty much dead against the Skiff.
It has such low health though, that you can't afford to make one mistake or you're dead. Therefore it's pretty much a last resort to use.
Edit: By the way, there are several places you can learn a special phrase to use against the Ur-Quan if they engage you, which forces them to explain why they want to kill/enslave you in full. They are pretty complex as villains go.

Hold! What you are doing to us is wrong! Why do you do this thing?

Use a collapse box or [color=transparent] if you have a spoiler...

Since you can't give free form answers this is not a spoiler. It's just a hint.

I know, but he shouldn't be complaining about it a function I don't think this board ever had?
So is this game kind of like the X series? My hard drive is running out of space and I have too many games that I don't play enough on here as is, but I'm curious.
