I know this sport is so nerdy SOME people have to play it here.
:kame: i love it. It's my second favorite sport to play next to (american) football. I just love everything about it.
I play cutter, but I'm more of a handler/cutter that often cuts short and occasionally breaks zone cups for a short pass.
I'm on my high school's club team and we have a tournament this weekend.

I made a topic about this like a year ago and all i got was "i hate it because we played it in gym."

I'm on my college's team, and actually just got back from our home tournament. It's also strange to me that you're a "cutter" since usually every position but the handlers cut. From my lingo, you play an "up-deep" or mid, and act as a fourth handler against zone.

It's our last tournament of the year and it was my second year. Hadn't played before that at all competitively.

What college? And at the highschool level, we simplify it with cutters and handlers for man offensive, but obviously different people have different places in the stack. I'm usually 4th or 3rd.

Wilkes university, in northeast pennsylvania.

And yeah. We generally just kinda go with the flow for stack, like there arent set positions in it. As far as offense, even when we have man against us we usually just run spread because it works better than our stack most of the time. As far as defense, depending on wind, we usually run 3,4, or hybrid cup. We almost never run man anymore, since most teams are very athletic and it's hard to compete 1 on 1 with them, but our zone's gotten very good.

I lost all interest in this game when I found out the "best" way to play it is with a stack and you aren't allowed to double cover the person with the ball. Fuck everything about that.

Stack is definitely not the "best way" to play it, its just what you teach beginners because it's easiest. And you are kinda allowed to double cover, but you cant be within 10 feet of the person with the disk or it's a double team. Otherwise, the person with the disk would never get a throw off.

They'd get a throw off, it would just force the game to be played at a fast pace, not at a 10 count pace.

Any videos of top level play you could link me to? I'd give it another chance.

It can already be hard to get a throw off when you have a cup on you. Giving two marks would take away both the backhand and forehand, and they'd never be able to throw. Trust me, with some of the guys on my team its hard enough to get a throw off when you're on the sideline with one of them on you, let alone two.

that one has some sick moves, not really any i could find of full games, they usually last like an hour or an hour and a half. Plus a lot of teams at that level just run a man offense so it isnt really spectacular to watch.

Yeah, getting doubled team is literally impossible to get anything off. If you tried it, you'd understand how difficult it can be with even a single good marker on you. Oh well, give it a try! It's a really fun game. The rules are really really well developed.

Symmetry shouted: I did my first EUD thing today. Feels like me finding arsenal at age 8 again
haha for sure. in some ways it's even more exciting because you can play EUD maps on regular battle.net, don't need to convince someone to download your mod to play with you. what did you do?
