This is my map for the WB December mapping contest. Comments welcome.

Version 1.1

-fixed aesthetics
-moved geysers at 2nd nats to min onlys. They only have 3500 gas
-made top/bottom expos smaller using raised jungle

Those expos on the top and bottom are big enough to be mains, even without the rocks. The map's got too much space for 1v1 if you ask me. Compact it down a bit.

128x128 is the standard size for my 1v1 maps, but the map size is actually designed for 4 player maps. Thus, you need to make sure to shrink it down to size using water and other terrain.

I actually intended for those expos on the top/bottom to be big, but I guess that wasn't such a good idea then.

And I was trying to make it match with the theme "bigger is better" by making it very open, but if it has balance issues because of it, I'll try to shrink it.

Or you could add another entrance to it that leads into those high ground expos in combination with a smaller expo, just to change things up a bit.

The version I'm submitting is gonna be slightly different from this one. I added some more doodads and got rid of some of the rocky ground at the top expo so the building space near the water is the same as the bottom ruins.

nice, (i dont normally post in this section ) >_>

I like how the ramps and bridges were blended(correct term?)
and for that one expo on the top middle, was the rocks put there to make it harder on their defense?

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
