You faintly hear another in the group chanting in a low tone. Though you can hear the occasional sound, none of it sounds like a word still spoken by any current civilization

"Now, here comes the fun part. You are bonded with your hands behind your back, as you may have noticed. My intention is not to keep you bonded and let the one with the "killer" gene run free. No, we will perform our first human trial here. Seventeen to one odds say that the last one alive will not be the person injected. I'd say that's sufficient enough of a sample group, is it not?

The chanting has reached an almost buzzing level. As you look for who is making the noise, you realize that the person has been chanting the same phrase repeatedly

"You there, subject Derqua, what are you doing? I am trying to instruct you as well as the rest of the people here. STOP I SAY!

poison_us draws a gun, and as he loads it, you can finally make out what "Derqua" is saying...it sounds like "Ut vorago abyssus ego reverto vos". As poison_us loads a green dart into his gun, you notice he is starting to look scared

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME??

poison_us aims his gun, fires it into "Derqua"'s chest, and "Derqua" collapses. Suddenly, a portal opens up and a metal cart comes flying and smashes into poison_us' chest, knocking him onto his back. As he sits up, you realize where he is...just under a large metal gate. The gate suddenly drops, going completely through the metal cart's top and bottom shelves, as well as poison_us' thighs. Through his screams of pain, he pulls a device from his pocket, and presses a button. You find yourself free of your bonds, with a dead man nearby and a dying one not far from you

Question: which one is dying, and which one is already dead?

Poison is dying and derqua is dead.

I don't imagine you die immediately when your leg is punctured, though I'd imagine death occurs fairly rapidly. This is your one opportunity to ask my in-game self a question, unless one or more of you can think of a way to save me. Be aware that my in-game self is limited to 3 actions, which ordinarily would not be used up by 3 "talk" commands, but since I'm dying...

I don't imagine a green dart instantaneously kills someone, either, which is where the confusion arose.

The gate is definitely heavy, since it pierced through the cart and all. It would probably take several players to try to lift. After that, we need to slow the bleeding, which could be done by using shirts as bondage and putting pressure on the afflicted area. Let's save poison, guys!

Also, don't doubt my poisons. There are several chemicals that can kill a person damn close to instantly.

Yes. I was writing from a funky view, I know, but each player is "you". Since there are no differences between each player's view at this point, I just used "you".
