Or 20s, so everyone earns 20 free minerals.
They'd actually earn 20, and payne would lose a ton.
Fix'd. Payne is giving us 20 minerals, therefore if we open a 20 box, the boxes give us no profit, but we keep the free 20 minerals payne gave us.

Actually they earn 20, since they don't have to give back the 20 minerals Payne gave to them =3

None.

Despite your rehash, Rai, you both are still wrong.

Jan 30 2011, 8:30 pm Raitaki Post #67

Wrong? What? :massimo:
So Payne give us each 20 minerals, and we use that 20 to open a box and get 20 minerals, so our mineral balance is back to when Payne has just given us 20 minerals (Our own minerals + 20). Payne only gets half IF we open 40 box or more. How tf can it mean no profit :massimo:

None.

Wow poison... I get 20 from payne. I spend those 20 on the box which gets me back to 0 profit. The box gives me 20 which is my net gain.
==> 20 - 20 + 20 = 20, not 0

I don't pay attention to poison_us on the forums anymore. He's basically the new devilesk. I wonder if I should join, I really doubt we'll hit that magical number anytime soon.

I went by Devourer's claim that the expected value of each box is 20. You went by your access to the source code :massimo:

Nude doesn't have access to the source code. Besides, there are multiple box variations. They don't all add up to the same amount.

EDIT:
And the one person who does have access on the list of participants is wrong.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
