It's not changing your mind; it's answering an entirely different question.

For example:

Q: What is your gender?
A: Male

Q: Which gender would you like to have a romantic relationship with?
A:

Btw. you shouldn't have changed the question. Your new question is predetermined (and thus has already been answered twice), the original question wasn't.

magic boxes differ do they not? does the total stay the same but the number of 20s and 0s might change? I thought everything varied.

I hcnaged the question because my initial question was nearly the same question, but more complicated. The initial count had to take in count the total number of minerals revealed, then you'd substract all 20s, and substract transfer fee from the rest, and you'd have your answer. >_>

There was originally a set number of each box in the v4 Magic Boxes which I coded. IP did the Magic Boxes script this time around and it works differently. There's a few different sets of boxes that can be used.

Sort of. There are a few possible outcomes, it all depends on which outcome is chosen on the day this happens (not to mention whether or not the boxes are manipulated on that day :D).

This is correct. The total is the same based on which outcome is generated, the only thing that changes is the position of the boxes.

The total is always the same. What changes is the number and value of "winning" boxes. One set might have 15 20's and 40's and no higher boxes, while another has 3 120's but only 10 20's and 40's. (Those are arbitrary examples)

So the first question would have involved a mix of guessing, luck (nobody knows which board will appear) and knowledge about the raffle because your payout depends on how many 20's there are, while your current question just need knowledge which is obviously unfair to those who have no insight.

No it isn't. This is what I keep saying. None of the preset outcomes have the same total value.

EDIT:
I actually counted all the 20s, 40s, 60s, 80s, 120s, and 140s for each outcome and every outcome has a different total.

Devlin - so if it only chooses one of several pre-set boards, and you say that you "always pick one of the 3 same spots", the obviously these specific spots have high chances of having 140 or 120s in them, and presumably only average or below-average incidence of 0 boxes.

In which case you're cheating.

The placement of each amount into a box is still randomized. What they're saying is that there are a few sets, or lists of amounts. One is selected at random and then those are shuffled and put into the boxes.

Feb 2 2011, 12:12 am DevliN Post #98

Woah

The boxes are randomly jumbled around the "board," they're not in the same spot each time. I don't know how I can say this any simpler. The way it works is that each preset amount has a list of 20s, 40s, 60s, etc. that it then randomly places on the "board." The last time I got a 120 or 140 in one of the three spots I always choose was about a month ago. The odds of me getting a 140 in one of those three spots are the same as any 3 random squares on the "board."

Here's an example of what the script looks like (this is not one of the presets):
array(60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 40, 40, 40, 40, 40, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20)

Those numbers are then randomly scattered around the "board."

EDIT:
Moose beat me to it. :/

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
