I've been stuck at "checking version....". I remember having this problem before when I changed my router, but I fixed it by looking it up online. I tried it again this time and it's not working. It's not only happening for SC1, but D2 too.

Master has given Dobby a doctorate! Dobby is free!

Who still plays those games? I bet Blizzard was just like ":hurr: I wonder if someone will notice if we turn off B.Net for these old games :hurr:

I played sc1 tonight and I enjoyed the 2 hours I was online more than nearly most of my experience with Battle.net 2.0

I also have to mention that my internet is really stupid. It takes constant F5s to let me view websites or videos. When I want to play League of Legends, I have to F5 like crazy to log in too. The weird part is that when I'm playing a game, I don't lag at all. The only problem is accessing it.

my guesses:
- firewall or router not configured
- virus on the computer

...

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
