Warboards Monthly Melee Mapping Contest

Each month (since I started the trend), various Warboards members will host a contest per month. As Warboards mappers are primarily melee mappers, we only have melee contests (though we plan to have UMS in the future).

Anyone interested merely needs to make an account and post their map in the thread. All maps due at the end of the month (or year, if you look at it that way), though posting your map in it's own thread for some feedback before you submit it in the contest will probably get you a higher grade. *hint hint ;)*

The top 4 maps and their authors are displayed on Starcraft.org in it's own news post.

Cool, does it have to be an obs or does it matter?

Doesn't matter.

If it's an obs, make sure it works though. ;)

Ok, I asked to sign up.

We should really have some SEN map contests again. I miss those... :(

Guess they won't happen for a while.

Actually, I list all participants and their maps in the newspost, and all maps are included in the mappack for each contest. The only thing is that the first 4 get a more detailed explanation and are specifically listed as gold, silver, bronze, and honorable mention.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
