I'm actually not sure about joining, finally. School is restarting, and I have quite a lot of maps in production right now... I might as well try to focus only on those 2 things. ;o

Please, Aristocrat, send me a PM asking me to confirm my presence before starting the game.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Beware of the finger-eating Lucifer.

Since you signed up for Mafia, I'll sign up for this. Are you planning on running this game simultaneously with Mafia?

Aug 27 2010, 4:28 am Azrael Post #26

I would assume he is, since Mafia is running simultaneously with TKG.

Also, Mafia doesn't require more than a few minutes a week to participate in. It's not very involved.

inb4 we are all orphans because we lost our parents to some mugger in a dark alley in our youth and want revenge so we are all chaotic vigilantes.

or

We woke up with amnesia and can't remember our past and we want revenge

I was thinking more along the lines of Cube.

How about the way they started it off in Cube?

Edit: Wow, really?

WTF it's been done before?

Your cube thing is going to be filled with death traps? :hurr:

The movie's epic though, one of my favorites. I have a SC map half-finished for it still, though the calculations began getting a little too demanding, especially considering the level of randomization I was including for room shifting was probably more thorough than it needed to be.

:shifty:

Nothing that kills you randomly out of the blue. You would have to deliberately do something stupid.

There should be a room with small holes covering the walls, ceiling, and floors. If the trap is activated, long spikes instantly extend from them, thoroughly making swiss cheese out of anything in the room. After a few moments, they extend back into their holes, waiting to be activated again.

The way you activate the trap is by making a sound :O

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[06:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor
[02:28 am]
Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
