I don't think Dev touched the login code at all, so I have no idea why you'd get lag for logging into 5.1.

IIRC, IP implemented a ton of IP and proxy tools which dramatically slowed logins. Maybe we should ask him whats up.

It takes me about three seconds to login here in the Chicago-land area, but I do know that every time I am in California the login time is two minutes and up no matter what connection I am using.

I tried a diff IP in L.A and it still lagged while logging in.

Well, simple solution here. Dev... You, as coder, oughta have access to every member's entries in the user database, and to things like IP logs and the like. So simply take every member here that's reported problems, and search for any and all commonalities. Narrow those down until you find the problem.
