Alien Swarm is a game and Source SDK release from a group of talented designers at Valve who were hired from the Mod community.

Available free of charge, the game thrusts players into an epic bug hunt featuring a unique blend of co-op play and squad-level tactics. With your friends, form a squad of four distinct IAF Marine classes. Plan your attack using an unlockable arsenal of weapons with countless loadout configurations against a wide variety of aliens. Blaze your way through an overrun, off-world colony, eradicating the alien infestation in environments ranging from the icy planet's surface, to a subterranean lava-flooded mining facility.

Along with the game get the complete code base for Alien Swarm that features updates to the Source engine as well as the SDK. Alien Swarm adds 3rd person camera, depth of field, improved dynamic shadows and a wide variety of gameplay additions to the Source engine.

I'll be playing too when it comes out, which it might have by the time I post this.

It looks almost exactly like alien syndrome, which was a game for Wii tho... Although I loved that game, so IDC.

Yes, AFAIK steam is free, though. The games are what you buy, Steam is just a client.

Will be playing L4D2 if this doesn't download fast enough for me. Add me (still poison_us) on Steam to figure out if it did or not.

I'm gonna be hosting campaigns ~~all night long~~, so add me (poison_us) and get invited to play with other random SENners. Hopefully multiplayer will show me that downloading this isn't a waste of space.

I'm Medic lvl 23.
I've beaten the game at Hard.
No one joins Insane games. Anyone wants to give it a try? :awesome:

EDIT: Lvl 24.
I tried 2 different levels on Insane.
I played both for approx. 1h30.
The sewer level, we did it to 70%.
The elevator level, to 99%... we were missing a fucking inch to win, then everyone left to bed.

NudeRaider -- I think SEN has trouble with https or hotlinking is forbidden. It certainly is nothing about the size, it just fails to get any size. You can get it working if you use imgur and include the actual image link for the img tag. Like this: [img=https://i.imgur.com/ddYqXZa.jpeg]
