The distance between the two are different. It does it for every smilie though, just less noticeable for smaller ones.

Cleaned it up in MSPaint. I can make add alpha transparency and improve anti-aliasing if desired.

Should be 20x20 pixels actually. You can deviate a little if you want, but 20x20 is ideal.
