Woah

Added more screenshots and started the map over on 256 x 256 terrain.

Anyone know of a good ESDF movement with camera triggers tutorial? I tried a few options and looked at a few maps, and for some reason my triggers aren't doing it properly. I can get the camera to work fine, but not so much the movement unfortunately.

All you need is first, a boolean variable for each letter, E, S, D, F. Then 4 triggers with events E pressed down, E pressed up, etc. changing the booleans to either true or false respectively. Finally, you need some sort of periodic event that orders the unit in a direction (I would use point with polar offset) based on the 4 boolean variables (basically a bunch of if-then statements).

And thanks, Swamp. I took a look at triggers for a few maps using that movement scheme and I have a feeling I'm missing like one part that makes it decide not to work. I'll have to look more closely.

ESDF movement works well now. Yay! Still not getting the camera system to work. I think I might just rip one off another map and give credit for it.

In more depressing news, I've slowed down work on this map for a short while while I've been picking up steam on two others I've been working on. I'll make threads for them eventually, and hope to get back to this one soon.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
