protecting maps

i have a really newby question but its really important. how to protect maps? i dont use starforge anymore and SCMdraft2 doesnt have a protection feature. help?

Save a unprotected copy.
Use a protection program like Uberation and save the protected copy under a different name.

i have 2 programs i use for protection 1 incase i want to keep sound quality and another for maps with no sounds.

here is uberation and tiny map.
