Whenever I try to make a transmission in the mission briefing, the text only shows up for like half a second. The sound keeps playing, but the text disappears too fast. This happens with every map whenever I try to make a transmission in the mission briefing. Anyone know why?

Err. You gotta put "Show for however long."

None.

Add a wait action after the text.

I've tried all that. I set the transmission to like 40 seconds and added a 10 second wait, but it still goes away.

If the transmission is 40 seconds, then you need a 40 second wait to display all of it. Also, how long has it been since you updated your SCM Draft?

None.

I just downloaded the file from the scmdraft thread like 3 days ago. Also, transmissions do act as waits in mission briefings. The wav continues to play; it's just the text that disappears.

If the text length exceeds a certain amount, I know it doesn't display. Try making a simple 1 letter text and see if it works?

None.

post it, copy someone else's briefing/don't use a briefing. Nobody reads them anyway.

It's true. Don't spend much times on the briefing, maybe just reiterate some things. 5 minutes should be spent, tops. Nobody reads them - in fact you'll be yelled at if you do.

None.

It's the mission briefings for my campaign. They're pretty important. >_>

EDIT: I took rockz's advice and copied it from the original missions, and now it works! Problem solved. :)

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
