Recently I had discovered the /mail command, but I was told it was nonfunctional.

Awhile later I was bored so i did /mail again and it said "Mail Sent" in yellow lettering, as opposed to the common "Could not send mail." in red lettering.

I only was able to successfully send mail to one user, but he was AFK for a LONG time.

Does it work or not?
???

Hm, that is weird. Test it our more.

Maybe it only works for people who are offline

People who set their status to "afk"

Or maybe both you and the receiver need to allow mail? Maybe some sort of mail command. I have no clue. I just use bots for that kind of stuff.

None.

He wasn't offline, but he was afk...

There are a set of "allow" mail commands, but they are a bit hidden... I have a screenshot if u guys wanna see it.

O.o Mail does work. It only works if you have a registered e-mail to your account. There's a set of commands to change who you want to receive mail from. Friends, Public, Clan or whatever, I forgot D: Anyways it sends an e-mail to the registered e-mail you put it to. So you got to check your inbox in whether you have MSN, Yahoo, AIM, Gmail, etc. It's from what I know anyways cause me and a friend wondered if it worked.

Oh wow. Thats... meh. Bot Mail is better.

SEN bot should have it and people who apply for it can be given enough access to use it (1) to prevent a ton of lolspam emails.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
