I remember making a map exactly like storm the fort - "Balance of War" - and then a bunch of games called "Storm The Fort" being hosted after that - I was beginning to think people were copying my idea >.<.
It does make sense now, people would create their own version and play it instead of playing my own.

Well, sorry to burst your bubble but the idea is practically as old as starcraft, the idea came from the Aeon of Strife map, though the original Aeon of Strife maps were much less complex than maps from today like Temple Siege or Storm the Fort.
