How to make Computer Blind Kakaru

So here's the situation:

I want to have a massing system where all of a player's low-level military units mass to a unit. Right now, the map has almost every unit that moves being devoted to some sort of hero or fighter or whatnot. Further, detection is somewhat important, as is vision itself--so I don't want the unit massing to be a Yggdrasil since it would be like giving everyone another free invincible detection unit.

Right now I've given every player an invincible kakaru. It's a flying unit (so it can go anywhere for massing purposes), it doesn't give vision (so the advantage it gives is less), but it does still give some vision. I would prefer to actually be able to blind it so that it doesn't give players the vision bonus.

However, if you know of another method to handle massing, let me know. Thanks.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Well EUD Mouse position detection paired with EUD key press detection would be an awesome alternative, but very tedious to set up.
Plus the risk of another patch screwing your map up.
Forget that. Works only in single player.

Other than that you could divide your map into sectors and make a separate area which is kinda like a checkerboard with 1 burrowed lurker per piece. By mc-ing a lurker you order your units into the respective sector.

Search for selection detection. It involves EUDs so if you don't know anything about them then disregard this post.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

Scourge 6.67
Mutalisk 6.67
Queen 6.67
Wraith 6.67
Vulture 6.67
Corsair 6.67
Scout* 6.67
Shuttle* 6.64
Valkyrie 6.60

All of these units are faster than any other air unit. If you use a shuttle, you can unload a unit to mass to that position, and possibly set rally points. You can also use other units to issue other orders (run away, only order particular units). If you have no air units, then a scourge works best. If you blind an overlord, they can't detect either. A queen won't attack either, unless you're already using queens for something else. You can set energy to 0 if you don't want the queen to use spells (and use matriarch or something like that).

If you have a hero unit, or something like a "commander", you can have the commander be able to pinpoint massing, then use the MC type massing for general massing.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
