In a map of mine, I have a trigger that closes a door when a person moves to a certain different location, and a few triggers later it opens the door again. The first time this trigger is used, the door may look open, but it seems the game thinks its closed, and when I enable the doodad state to close it, it opens instantly as if it were closed. I don't know why it does this, and it only does this the first time.

Just discovered this: the second time the trigger sequence goes off, the door closes twice, every time after the second works perfectly.

After giving an order to open or close to a door, do not give any other orders to it for at least 1.27 seconds. That is 15 trigger cycles with hyper triggers.

Well, the door doesn't open again from the trigger sequence for ~5 seconds, and then you can't start the sequence over for another ~5 seconds. And the first time you do the trigger to close it, where it opens it again as opposed to closing it, theres probably at least a 15 second break between the door initially openning upon map start-up and people being able to start the trigger sequence.

I fixed it by simply opening and closing the door a few times right at the start before anybody can get to the spots. So the problem is fixed.

Zoan -- of course it isn't full understanding. You could ask "is the mechanism by which this counterexample blows up the ONLY mechanism possible for an initial configuration to blow up?"
[05:48 pm]
Zoan -- ppl do it all the time in PDEs
[05:47 pm]
Zoan -- Heinermann
Heinermann shouted: it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased
Constructing a counterexample is answering the question: "Is Navier Stokes well posed?" in the negative
[05:44 pm]
NudeRaider -- I only heard about it, didn't any news article, so what did it do then?

Heinermann -- it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased

NudeRaider -- I have no idea tbh. All I know no human was ever able to solve it, but there's at least a few that beat portal ;)
[05:32 pm]
Zoan -- Navier Stokes is not that esoteric I thought

NudeRaider -- Zoan
Zoan shouted: I find it kind of sad that on the same day it was announced AI solved Navier Stokes, it was also announced AI beat Portal, and there's a good deal of people who don't know which is more impressive
you find it sad not everyone is a math nerd?

NudeRaider -- (and yes, I capitalized that correctly :ego:)
