Just here for the pie

If I have 12 scvs using that method I'd get 15 minerals. To use countoffs, you have to give away the scvs. The better way is to use trigger duplicator and make 100-200 triggers using "exactly 1" to "exactly 200". 400 triggers isn't "a million".
My bad. I forgot that when working like that you need to go with the highest number at the top.

EDIT: I apologize. I just made a test map and I was wrong. Silly me... I would just go with the "exactly 1", "exactly 2", etc. suggestion. Use a trigger duplicator.

Powerups are all invincible, except resource powerups. Resource powerups are unplaceable by triggers. You'll have to use a unit of some kind, or figure out a way to achieve what you want with powerups (you can have them be killed when a unit walks up to them or something).

Binary countoffs are a method to efficiently produce any number, since binary can produce any number (did you know you can count to 31 on one hand, and 1023 on two hands?) easily.

your triggers will look something like this:
Deaths of "check food" is 1 <- just a condition to start the check food, set it to 0 at the end of the run so none of these triggers will run again
Command at least 1 scv <- binary countoff, also check for at least 16,8,4,2 and possibly higher.
then
Give 1 scv to other player <- another countoff, use same numbers
Add 1 deaths of "sum" <- another countoff, use same numbers, this one is your total count of workers

Repeat for drone, probe, civ, and change all the numbers to 16, 8, 4, 2, and higher if you want more than 31 counted.

Deaths of "check food" is 1
Deaths of "sum" is at least 1
bring at least 1 "food" to location
then
kill/remove 1 "food" at location
subtract 1 deaths of "sum"

If you have no "sum" left, you are in the clear. If you have any "sum" left, you didn't have enough food, and you need to kill off some stuff, or something. I don't know what you are planning on doing.

Make sure you read up on binary countoffs, and any other links that are to the wiki in this thread. If you still don't know what to do, write in detail what you are trying to accomplish.

thanks rocks, that will help a lot. i was writing triggers and duplicating, but i had to figure out a way to kill of civis if there was'nt enough food. but if "deathcount" works lie i think it is, i should be able to kill off civis one by one, and subtracting from deathcount until it his 0. and thanks for the link, I'll read it so i can stop asking dumb questions lol.

there is another question i needed. its about stacking (again, lol.) the question i asked at the top of this thread was if you can write a trigger to creat stacked buildings (i know how to "turn vision off" so the player can stack building, but that's not what i want) but there was no conclusive answer. so i desided to use a terren building, and leave it at that. (another question in its self, but i'll ask another day) but now there's something else i want to do that involves stacked buildings. so... is there a way to write i trigger. as for as i can tell the answer's no, but you guys know a lot more than i do about staredit. so.....any suggestions?

Please, I can only assume English is not your native language, and I'll forgive you for that, since it is in the rules, however: a decent level of spelling, proper grammar and sentence structure are expected in posts on SEN. You are expected to put effort into formulating your posts. By typing in coherent sentences, it not only makes you look better, it makes comprehension of your problem much easier. What really helps more than anything is the actual use of the question mark punctuation. Even if you type with terrible grammar, the question mark points you towards the question you need answered, and makes it simple to answer that one question. Anything else is simply giving background information to help answer the current question at hand.

Now onto your "question", which I can only assume I translated correctly
>Is there a way to stack via triggers?
Yes and no. There are two methods to stack. One involves turning off the lights, and the player building something, which you already know about. The second involves removing a building, then replacing it with another building via a trigger. Whenever a building is removed, the tile is marked as "buildable", unless the tile is by default unbuildable (cliffs and other unwalkable areas). That means if you stack a lot of buildings, you can place a building on top of them so long as you remove a building beforehand. If you can't create the building there (error message pops up), you can definitely create it somewhere else, then move it there.

It is improbable that turning off the lights, then creating/moving a building via triggers will work, however I haven't tested it.

ok, my food and tax triggers are working great. thanks guys.

btw, how ofter are triggers ran? (i want to run a deathcount trigger as an internal timer, subtracting x from deathcount every trigger run so it hits 0 in 30 seconds. when it hits 0 another trigger activates, then resets the timer. so i guess i need to know how high i can set deathcount. is there a maximum?)

Maximum is 2,147,483,647 http://www.staredit.net/wiki/Map_Limits
Triggers run ~12 times a second on fastest, 8 times an in-game second with Hyper Triggers http://www.staredit.net/wiki/Death_Counters

no, my native language is English. I'm slightly illiterate. English has never been my strong point. I apologize for any confusion my post cause, and if asked to, i will stop posting completely. and again, i'm sorry.

about the post you quoted, i have no idea what happened. lol. I typed it in a hurry, and after re-reading it, it seams like jiberish. so i can imagine what you were thinking. so i understand if you want to cut me out. i should have taken the time to read over my post before i posted them. that was my fault for being in a hurry.

i leave the desision to you. but, if you deside to ban me, i have one request. let me post the map when i'm done. you guys have helped me a lot, and i want to show you what i'm doing.

Nobody wants to ban you. We only want to encourage you to improve.
Take rockz' suggestions to heart and reread your post before you send it and using Firefox's built in spell checker might be a good idea too. When we see you put effort into it but just are not that perfect you will still be very welcome in this community.
