For my entry to TLS RPG contest, I want to have a bunch of items, some of which can be combined. Combos can only be two things combined, not three or more. It's a post-apocalyptic zombie RPG. Currently, I have
Knife
Long Stick
Knife + Long Stick = Homemade Spear
Bottle
Petrol
Bottle + Petrol = Molotov Cocktail
First Aid Kit ( i don't need anymore healing items)
Battery
Dead Torch
Battery + Dead Torch = Torch
Crowbar

And a bunch of quest specific items and weapons and clips.

Any suggestions?

Lighter + Aerosol can = Pocket Flamethrower.

Good idea, and then make it
Empty Bottle + Petrol(which you have to siphon) = Bottle of Petrol, then
Bottle of Petrol + Lighter = Molotov

Bottle + Gun Powder = Unlit bomb
Unlit bomb + lighter = Bomb
Banana + Bomb = Banana grenade
Banana + hammer = BAN HAMMER

Aren't torches lit more commonly by fire than batteries? If you mean "lantern" rather than "torch"...
