Attach the map, it'll be easier to help that way. You could have a neutral player or rescueable player taking up a slot or something.
Edit: The map would help more than pictures.

If you're using Scmdraft, there is a rare bug where a player will cease to exist despite owning a start location. However, like I said this is extremely rare and only ever happens if you mess with the player's start location a lot.
