He's only going to restore his own units, he won't restore anyone else's.

Is it possible to "trick" the computer by giving it to Brown, then giving right back?

If you can't trick it, then just give it and throw in a wait or a small DC and then give back after Brown's had time to restore.

The best option is to try it out and test it. While I think it unlikely it will work with ensnare, it can work like that for things like healing.
