staredit won't open your map anymore. Don't do it. Keep using SCMDraft.
Be VERY careful from here on out. Save OFTEN into a brand new file (yourmapa.scx, yourmapb.scx, etc...)
I don't know what you mean by q030. You haven't maxed your strings yet, but maps tend to be very buggy when they go over the staredit limit of 1024. Theoretically you can have 65535 characters in all your strings (minus some for miscellaneous things), but SCMDraft tends to crash when you go over 1024 and approach the actual starcraft limit of 65535 bytes.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Well I am not very close to the byte limit but the string limit is far behind in my wake. I hope the map still works. The triggers are all quite simple I just have to make a hell of a lot of them. Is the string just the comment I leave on the trigger? Because I could delete those comments....

comments add a LOT to your strings. Use uBeR@TiOn 2 or something to delete the comments if you want to. Personally, I don't comment at all, or if I do, I find another string to use. You can't see what the trigger does if it's commented out, and I like being able to tell exactly what all my triggers do.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Well I wouldnt comment except that I have a couple hundred triggers for each player, so I leave comments that give shorthand information about what the trigger does. Such as "Player 1 - Ore 1 capping trigger."
Do you know where I can download that software? I am having a little trouble locating a good link to it on google.

Thanks, those worked. Though now I cant seem to figure out how to make it delete my comments. I uncheck the filters for everything else...and then I click...recycle? Remove unused? I tried both but neither removed them.

String limit doesn't matter; with the latest versions of Scmdraft it will bypass the limit. What does matter, however, is the string byte limit, as it can't be increased.

I would just go through the text triggers with Find to get rid of all the comments, that would probably work better than editing the strings.

Thank you guys for all of your help. I thought now that the map (actually the fourth map I attempted to do this with) is finished and actually working I would upload it in case anybody was curious about it.
The goal was to focus Starcraft's gameplay to be more like that of Dawn of War, by forcing players to capture ore and gas points to earn resources and critical points to win. I did have to make somethings different than Dawn of War to find the right pace for the game but I am pretty happy with it overall.
(It is a multiplayer map so you probably will only get to check it out in the map editor sorry).

feel free to post it with screenshots in the UMS production (if it's not done)/showcase (if it's done) forum.
