Could any one explain how to either change the value of the mineral stacks and gas or enter a code or something.
I must know this works!

there's also a trigger action "set resource amount".
If you want multiple minerals blocks stacked over another just right click on the block in the editor and choose "stack".
First you should download
SCMDraft 2. It's a third party map editors, and one of the things it allows you to do is put in numbers higher than 9999.

run scmdraft2.exe. Open your map. place minerals on top of each other. If you can't, allow unit stack under options.

This discussion has become far too long and off-topic.
I think we can summarize that everyone has to know for himself when he needs a more complex editor and when he's ready for it.
So here's the list of commonly used editors with increasing complexity:
- Staredit
- X-tra edit / Fartyedit
- ScmDraft 2 / Starforge
ScmDraft 2 is the overall best editor and when you get suggestions on how to do something you can usually assume that the guide is for ScmD if not specified differently.
