I got a message when working on triggers:

"You have created the maximum number of units with properties possible. You will not be able to create any additional units until you delete old ones."

what does this mean? is it saying that I made too many triggers?

Well considering it said units with properties? Not sure why properties would matter however in SCXE you'll only be able to place 1650 units so if you have that many units then your SOL unless you get scmdraft or starforge which should allow you the max of 1700 that the game can support. However this will not be helpful if you've used 1650 thus far.

What kind of map are you making? Unless it's an RPG there really shouldnt be a problem with this many units. And if you are making an RPG I suggest you make a spawn system so when the enemies in an area get low you can create more so you don't run out but your not maxing out the units in your map.

You can only have 64(?) different Create Unit With Properties actions within your triggers. This is a hard limit that cannot be broken.

oh ok thanks, some of the ones that i had with properties were just me being lazy and copying ones that actually needed them

Armor: 90.50%

If you're using the same set of properties for a lot of units, you can use StarForge or SCMD2 to have multiple creation triggers use the same property slot.

Or, you can just create the units and use other triggers to apply properties for you. This means properties will essentially only be needed for Cloaked, Burrowed, Hallucinated, etc, units. Other trigger actions can modify HP %, Shield %, Energy %, Invincibility, Hangar Count, etc.
