In my map i want to center a whole character around the cool ability to:
burrow> teleport down underground into a 4x4(2x2 blocks) grid of multicolors that you can use to travel around the map very quickly when you burrow again there. switches! Woahmagod switches XD so anyway: before i go rushing off trying to figure out the burrow detection: maybe you guys have a better idea or system?
Thoughts in chaos?

Burrow Detection is easy, just move a unit to a 1x1 location that is on the unit.

To have it move to it's corrosponding spot on the underground area, use a location grid.

Now, there IS a way to do it with mobile grids, but it only works with a certain terrain aspect. Did you start the terrain yet?

Yes but i mapped out the terrain to find the center/14x14 blocks marked
flat.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

So is the map split into 2 areas, and you're trying to have a unit which burrows down into the corresponding location below/above?

its one large battlefield which...i guess is divided into 3 parts..

Enemy Base
War field
Affiliate Base

im almost ready to throw this idea away in fear of my map becoming the next wii. :/

You still haven't told us what exactly you want to happen when you burrow.
Like a waypoint system where you can choose your exit and get teleported there?

He wants to burrow, and you are taken to an area off to the side which is a condensed version of the playing area and you will use that area to provide faster transportation.

Then maybe you should divide your main playing field into zones and have "teleporter exits" according to them at the underground terrain.

ah..yea, something of that sort! if i can get 'exact' that would be perfect But i can deal with just using a grid system..taking a look at the map now thats perfect! hum... I wanna be minimalist because i dont have it planned out where im putting everything however know this: I have cut the map down in size and left black area around it to store the insides of buildings and stuff like this(upgrades, player specials, needed unit switch triggers and things blahblahblah) depending on what happens, ill like it to be roughly 20x20 rectangle..

Hmn..this might be a lot of work..

Oh_Man -- How can i change my name here to put [TFE] on the end will thr website let me
[06:02 pm]
Zoan -- of course it isn't full understanding. You could ask "is the mechanism by which this counterexample blows up the ONLY mechanism possible for an initial configuration to blow up?"
[05:48 pm]
Zoan -- ppl do it all the time in PDEs

Heinermann shouted: it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased
Constructing a counterexample is answering the question: "Is Navier Stokes well posed?" in the negative
[05:44 pm]
NudeRaider -- I only heard about it, didn't any news article, so what did it do then?
[05:43 pm]
Heinermann -- it also didn't solve that problem but hey as long as the investors are pleased
[05:39 pm]
NudeRaider -- I have no idea tbh. All I know no human was ever able to solve it, but there's at least a few that beat portal ;)
[05:32 pm]
Zoan -- Navier Stokes is not that esoteric I thought
[04:32 pm]
NudeRaider -- Zoan
Zoan shouted: I find it kind of sad that on the same day it was announced AI solved Navier Stokes, it was also announced AI beat Portal, and there's a good deal of people who don't know which is more impressive
you find it sad not everyone is a math nerd?
