Every time I try to get a map editor to load it says "stardat.mpq not found". Also, if I try to use a program, an example being scSoundUtility, it says stardat.mpq not found. This really sucks an I need to know how to fix it please. My stardat.mpq file is clearly visible and has not be changed by anything. In fact, I have reinstalled sc 3 times to try to fix this.

Is SC in the default directory, also, in SCM Draft you can select exactly where it is.

in regedit (start->Run... "regedit") go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft and make sure that the values for InstallPath, Program, and StarEdit have the correct path.

Defaults (change accordingly if you use a different path):
InstallPath = C:\Program Files\Starcraft\
Program = C:\Program Files\Starcraft\Starcraft.exe
StarEdit = C:\Program Files\Starcraft\

I think it is from not using "uninstall". I have simply been deleting sc before i reinstall. Could that be the problem? Neither of your methods worked.

You can delete StarCraft registry values
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Starcraft (except the three previous mentioned, StarCD, Retail, Brood War, and Recent Maps... or just stay away from this one.)
