And I started the project a long time ago, but never really worked on it seriously xD Lethal_Illusion brang me back on it because of the contest :P
Anyways, I must use vHP because potions in D2 makes you gain a certain number of life :O

Make only one type of potion that restores your HP to the current maximum. Problem solved.

What are you trying to accomplish by making variable potions? Copy D2 into SC? That's not gonna work buddy. I don't mean to offend you, but from what I've seen you don't have the required skills and experience to finish what you've planned. Tone down the complexity and you might finish the map; leave your ambitions as they are and the map won't be finished.

Not using complex systems =! creating the usual stupid RPG. It's your responsibility to mkae it a high quality map without VHP, like it has been done before.
