I put a geyser as terrain and would like to place a gas sprite animation on top of it, is this possible? if so, please help me with how. if not, please explain if there is any other way to do it. thanks.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Uhm you can place green gas puffs as sprites, but i think most of them crash. Just try a few maybe one or another works for you.
Impossible grandma uses that, but whenever I tried it I got a crash. Don't know what trick the map used.

Thanks, but I tried that already, it doesn't seem to work. I feel like I've tried everythig.

We do a little trolling

Normal gas puffs don't work, but there is a doodad from the desert world terrain that periodically spews up a puff of gas that looks fairly similar. In Scmdraft it can be found under Sprites>>Doodads>>Desert>>Doodad 34 (Overlay).

My Projects:

Impossible Ultraviolet | Impossible UV 2 | Impossible UV 3
Mercenaries 2020 | Mercenaries III
Squad Defense

Legacy Projects (No guarantee of functionality in modern SC):

Pixel Adventure 2 | Space Snipers | Control the Ball

Ah, NerdyTerdy that is perfect, even better than the green gas too. And it works. Thanks so much.

The normal gas animation in the sprites only appears once, then disappears, glad you found a working one though.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
