They won't ban your cd-key unless you contiguously break the rules or do something very big(which I'd doubt), the will close your account the first time and keep closing accounts(banned), if you keep breaking the rules they will cd-key ban you. If they close your account it'd say "You account has been closed" when you try to log in

It is common sense to know if you are banned or not, a game wouldnt just sit there and do nothing. Theres this thing called Ethics that most game companies follow.
