As the title and description say, I'm looking for a trigger editor that can make my life much easier for my upcoming map(s). I realize SC2 is almost out, but if anyone has a trigger editor that works in XP, that would be great. Most links I find now are dead (all triggers editors are) and there isn't a search function for this site...

Pretty much everything you just said is nonsense.
The downloads from this site are Starcraft --> Database (Menu on the top). Once there, you find a search button a bit under the menu in the middle.
Which links are dead? If you browsed the Maplantis filesection you have to manually edit the links. The Admins haven't updated them since the downfall of ML, it's just a static copy of the content. Replace "www.maplantis.org" with "www.staredit.net/maplantis" to make the links work.
Any editor I know of works under XP. Such as:
- ScmDraft 2 (recommended)
- Starforge (buggy, but unique trigger making system)
- X-tra Editor (lacks quite a bit of functions, but Staredit feel)
- Farty Edit (advanced version of X-tra, but not available on this site)
- Staredit (basic editor shipped with sc)
(The first 3 can be found in the Database under Programs)
How about Emerald Placer and Emerald Aspect? LOL
XP is one of the most stable Windows operating systems, along with 98SE, and is more than capible of running all current editors

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.
Use SCMDraft. If you can't find it in the downloads section, try
this.

I was referring to the difficulty I was having finding any trigger editors here or on any other site. For example, on the menu you mentioned, there is a "trigger editor" button which leads to.....nowhere! I didn't realize that the map editors also have this function. I was asking for assistance in the ASSISTANCE section. What makes my situation 'nonsense'??
Also, I barely signed up recently to this site. Just because you
know that those links need to be manually edited doesn't mean that I automatically knew that. You don't need to be so snippy in the help section.
But I digress. I have used SCMDraft and I didn't realize it could be useful as a trigger editor. TY TassadarZeratul for pointing that out.

There is no such thing as a trigger editor, except maybe Uberation, they are always built into the editor.
None.
For once I agree with the falk

Sorry when I read trigger editor I thought you need a generic map editor. And in this case you're right the search doesn't help and the ML links (only place for pure trigger editors) are dead (unless you know how to revive them

), while every other link should work, thus my confusion.
As it was already said, every generic map editor comes with a trigger editor of some sort. For that matter you might want to try Starforge.
If you have to create many similar triggers you should use one of these
trigger editors. I haven't used them but if I remember correctly "Text Trigger Duplicator" needs ScmDraft and "Trigger Duplicator" needs X-tra or Fartyedit to import the triggers into your map.

Except that Falk is
wrong.
That's modding, not mapping.

No its not, where does it say that?
Anything that involves plugins and custom actions is modding...
None.

PyMS and ProTRG developer
It says it has support for those things, it doesn't say "you can only edit the triggers in a way that is only for modders", it says its a "modder friendly trigger editor".
It's intended for modding, and while, yes, you can edit with it, editors just as good, if not better are included with all map editors.
None.

I was only pointing out that your comment about there being no such thing as a stand alone trigger editor is incorrect. Also just because it has extra features that can be very useful to modders doesn't really mean anything, its still a trigger editor.
