Science Vessels and Inverted Locations

I'm trying to detect when a player moves a hero Science Vessel from its location. For every unit thus far, I've been using DatEdit, finding the unit, and then clicking on the graphics tab. I then use this formula for the coordinates of my location.

Left = Left + Right - 1
Top = Up + Down - 1
Right = 0
Bottom = 0

I then center the location on the appropriate unit. This has seemed to work for every unit thus far. Except, of course, the Science Vessel. The Science vessel has these stats

Left: 32
Right: 32
Up: 33
Down: 16

Which means I should be using a location that is

Left = 63
Top = 48
Right = 0
Bottom = 0

Except that the Science Vessel is never ever found in that location. Ever. What am I doing wrong?

None.

Locations center on the center of the unit. Use this formula:
2(min(left/up,right/down))-1. Those aren't division symbols either.

If the player moves the science vessel directly down, it won't be detected.
