It's very serious.

There are many unused strings in my map.I only want to delete them.So I protect my map by using the CPP Test Protector. Then use OSMAP to unprotect it.

But after cracking. The strings become worse.

If I use OSMAP(1.00m) to crack it.It will become worse.
Here is the screenshot.

If I use Unused to crack it.It will become much worse.

The map is here: http://www.mayafei.cn/crack.rar
(Use Winrar to open it.)

The sword and the faith

Its probobly the protection messing up the strings. Im pretty certain.
Ive had no issues to date from OSMAP. Ill contact LW.

Now that im thinking about this the protector could be trying some new type of protection (As ive never heard of this one your using) and OSMAP hasnt been modified to effectively counter its specific way of doing things resulting in strings taking a hit. Im not too sure though. Its my experiance that certain protections are what causes string corruption. Maps are pretty picky about what theyll let protect them. If all else fails try ProEdit, it usually works where these newer programs mess up.

Okay, I'm all for discussing the ethics of OSMAP, but turning this place into the OSMAP bug report and improvements forum isn't going to happen. You either get on Maplantis, PM Legacy, or just e-mail him ( legacyweapon at gmail ).

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
