Everyone needs to see this movie.
Everyone needs to read this book.
Any opinions on it?
Personally, Rorsach was my favorite actor; he did an excellent job.
The movie was well put-together. Even though they deviated from the storyline a little bit, it held together quite nicely.

Everyone needs to read this
comic book.
I thought I'd point that out for the people who didn't know and don't like comics.
None.
The person who made V for vendetta also wrote the watchmen comic right?
I wanna watch this movie too check out the comedian. I'd say Rorsach but the movie got spoiled for me.

Rorsach was definitely my favorite part of the movie. I've never read the "Graphic Novel" so i can't compare, but the movie was ok. It was not at all what I expected, had quite a bit of gore (yay) and quite a bit of sex/nudity (pretty nice, other then big blue penis's hanging everywhere). The movie also seemed like it just had a lot of useless stuff in it, it could have been a third of how long it was. Anyway, if you don't like long/draw out movies and/or gore/nudity then I wouldn't recommend seeing it in theaters at least, but I felt it was a good watch.
Spoiler: I think my favorite thing in the movie was when Rorsach had the flashback about the guy that kidnapped/killed the 6 year old girl. He killed the guys dogs then when the guy got home he threw them at him lol, was sick. He also had good quotes, like when he butchered that guys skull after he pleaded to be taken to prison: "Men go to prison, you put down dogs". I also like the other quote when he was in prison and the guy killed himself with the toilet: "Disposing of sewage with a toilet, so obvious"
I heard the movie wasn\t so good! And I didn\t get to finish the book yet

I was having a fairly good time in the first half of the movie, but by the end I was snickering at it. It was too loud, too long, and tried too hard. I have not read the graphic novel, but this movie doesn't make me particularly want to. I didn't find any of the characters likable. I realize that's part of the point of the original story: the so-called heroes aren't heroes at all. However, I got the distinct impression that Zack Snyder forgot that message at times, and expects us to like this ruthless lot of sadistic bullies anyway, with no good reason other than their ability to speak to our most savage nature. If you want to see the perfect example of evil characters portrayed sympathetically, watch
The Godfather.
Just like
300, this movie seems to have an infatuation with the feelings that are part of juvenile self-discovery. I know some people were drawn in by Rorschach's rage at the corruption in the world. However, I'm equally certain such people failed to see that the blind rage inspired by said corruption is also the cause of many of the world's problems. It's also fun and thought provoking to have conversations about the scale of the universe and one's insignificance in the grand scheme of things with a few close friends or in private mental dialogue. However, such conversations have always felt extremely tedious to me in movies, and I subconsciously searched for the fast-forward button during Manhattan's monologues. Infatuation is blind. That's part of their fun, yes, just please don't ask me to be mentally satisfied with someone else's.
I liked the trailer better.

Relatively ancient and inactive
other then big blue penis's hanging everywhere
That sounds rather strange... I thought there was only one blue guy?
Anyway, I don't think I'm watching this. Doesn't sound good enough.

one blue guy who can split his atoms to multiply.
None.
Thought it was alright... comic book was better, but they had to compress alot, and the cast could've been better.
The original Silk Spectre was particularly disappointing to me, as she has some really great lines that were delivered really flatly.
I thought Rorschach was great, and Nite Owl was pretty good. The others were rather meh. But for a comic book movie it was pretty damn good, and it was deliciously dark!

Ozymandias kills Bubastis off pretty fast...
Also, everyone needs to watch this

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I plan to. I just read the comic a few days ago and I definitely recommend reading it. I have a feeling that it's a million times better than the movie.
None.
I found Manhattan's lines and monologues enjoyable, but that may be because I love physics and science.

Just got back from the movie. It was fine, but they went overboard with the gore and I'm pretty sure the director has some sort of unholy fascination with blue penis

Have you read the book? It's a lot more graphic than the movie...

Myself
I have, and while that may be true in some respects, the movie had much more gratuitous gore. For example, when Dr. Manhattan disintegrated people in the book (which only happened rarely) I don't remember seeing blood spray everywhere and coat everything in a red mist. No, while the book was more graphic and horrific, it was so by subtler means (for example, Rorschach burning the house down and giving the guy a hacksaw rather than simply butchering him).
None.
I just finished reading the book. When Manhattan disintegrated Rorschach, blood did go everywhere. I identified most with Dr. Manhattan. Don't ask why.

OHSHI-
I've heard really, really, really conflicting reviews about this. I may have to see it myself to decide D:
Best line: "You think I'm stuck in here with you? YOU'RE STUCK IN HERE WITH ME!"
Anyone else laugh when Rorschach got punched in the face by Ozymandia and his ink rippled in the direction of the blow?
By the way, if anyone was too lazy to click my link, the parody video is on youtube.
