I forget, what are the specifications that sounds need to be set to in order to work in Starcraft? The #-bit, kHz, mono, etc.

I recall from somewhere else that SC's sounds are centered around 16-bit 22.5khz mono playback.

Edit: Hum... Oh yes, Mesk's recent tutorial video in his moddery bible thread at CampaignCreations tells you the sound format that SC takes in.
