I just saw that little fight in the other thread
And I've gotta say, like anybody else, I'm disappointed.
It got me thinking of how things could be better.
Firstly, there's obviously some discrimination towards mappers. This is just stupid at best, and there's no reason for it to continue. I thought this one was obvious. Honestly, who gives a shit?
Secondly, internet bullying is just ridiculous. And in the past, from what few mod nights I've attended, we've always had a good group of people who get along good. What-the-fuck happened? Actually, don't answer that question.
I think we might need moderation at Mod Nights.
Does it sound stupid to you?
It sounds stupid to me, because we shouldn't be having these problems in the first place. MM attenders should just be getting along anyways, as it was in the past.
BUT it seems like some people can't even use good manners or good sportsmanship anymore, so it's looking like these would have to be enforced.
I'm not sure who the appointed moderators would be, since one of MM's very own members is one of the people causing the problems, and that's just ridiculous.
The only person I can think of is Corbo. But it would be too much to expect him to attend EVERY Mod Night.
The other alternative is to ban people from attending Mod Night altogether. This is bad because then we have less attenders. Sure, some might say "Who cares, all they did was bitch and complain, or bully others, or they were just stupid map makers" etc, but that's not going to matter when there's only like 2 people attending Mod Night.
I don't know if this issue has been addressed already because that thread is kinda old, but I'm just wondering what, if anything, has been done to sort the whole mess out? Because locking a thread and pretending it never happened isn't my idea of problem solving.
Edit: And I swear to God, if any of you turn this into another flame war, I will do horrible, horrible things to your grandmother.
