Halocladius is a genus of
halophilic, non-biting midges in the subfamily
Orthocladiinae of the bloodworm family (
Chironomidae).
[2][3][4] They inhabit seashores and saline inland waters of the Northern Hemisphere. Wing length is 1.5–3.5 mm (0.06–0.14 in).
[1] Two subgenera have been described:
[1] Halocladius[5] and
Psammocladius.
[6]The most widespread species is
Halocladius variabilis, known from Canada, northern Europe, and the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
[4] The larvae can grow to 12 mm (0.5 in) in length. In Nova Scotia, life cycle is
univoltine, possibly bivoltine.
[7] It is a
commensal, potentially symbiotic with marine algae: the larvae feed on diatoms fouling its host, possibly delivering nutrients via faecal material. Typical host is brown alga
Elachista fucicola, growing itself on
Ascophyllum nodosum, although other primary and secondary hosts occur too.
[4] Typically, a single larva occupies one
Elachista fucicola thallus.
[4]In the Baltic, adults emerge between mid-May and late June. Densities of emerging adults as high as 328 indiv./m² have been observed, although 10 indiv./m² is more typical.
[8] Much higher larval densities, more than 50,000 indiv./m², have been reported from rocky intertidal zone of Nova Scotia.

Welcome to SEN, ZoltanMatey. With such a thought-provoking first post, I can tell you'll be a fine addition to our community.
Hey, I was wondering how much of this stuff I should buy for my 10 month old kitten? You say that it's good for litters of up to 7 kittens, so how does that relate to a 10 month old kitten? Should I consider a 10 month old kitten to be equivalent to 10 new-born kittens? Will this product work for 10 kittens, since you've apparently only tried it with 7?
None.
the mothers body would be worn from 7 kittens so i gave some of it as per bodyweight into Her milk
if the kitten is a little weak then supplemented food is also recquired
so then you can give some supplement 1.2 grams per every kilogram of body, a 10 month old kitten maybe less then a kilogram, so maybe a flat teaspoon of it into milk the kitten can consume (if weak kitten)
it is generally protein supplement you should give (so it has high protein percentage 85 percent plus)
there are bodybuilders protein supplement wich can be bought (protein plus vitamins dats all) maybe some bisacharides or so but mostly protein
None.
